This policy explains how Koutarou Okuda ("we") handles information in the iPhone app "DopaKO" (the "App").
Apart from messages you choose to send through Contact and bug reports (section 4-2), the App does not send your information to our servers. (For how the App reads its settings from our server, see section 4-3.) Everything the App handles is stored and processed only on your iPhone. We do not collect personal information.
To work, the App stores the following on your iPhone. None of it is sent to us or to any third party.
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| The apps, categories, and websites you choose to shield | To shield the apps you pick |
| App usage time (through Apple's Screen Time framework) | To reduce your app time and shield apps when it runs out |
| Focus sessions (start time, length, result) | To add app time based on how long you focus |
| Settings (wake-up time, app time when you wake up, time earned by focusing, theme, notification permission status) | To run the App the way you set it up |
| When your 3-day free period started and ends | To manage the 3-day free period |
The App uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity). The apps and websites you choose are handled as opaque tokens issued by Apple. The App cannot read app names or what you view, and this information never leaves your device.
The App uses local notifications, created on your device, to tell you when a focus session ends or when your app time is running low. No information is sent anywhere for notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in the Settings app.
Purchases, renewals, and cancellations of the Monthly Plan subscription are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple manages your payment information; we never receive it. The App checks whether your subscription is active on your device using Apple's StoreKit. For how Apple handles your information, see Apple's privacy policy.
Messages you send from "Contact and bug reports" in Settings are stored on a server we use (Supabase). We receive the message and its type (bug, request, or other), your app version, iOS version, device model, language, theme, and subscription status. Your shielded apps and usage time are not sent. We don't collect your name or contact details. We use these messages only to investigate problems and improve the App.
When the App launches or returns to the foreground, it reads two settings from a server we use (Supabase): the minimum required app version and a notice. No information about you is sent with this request. (As with any internet request, the server may temporarily log the IP address of the connection.)
The App does not use analytics tools, advertising, or tracking.
